Eurobike Frankfurt is a fair dedicated to two-wheeled electric vehicles which is held every year in Frankfurt in June, and this year among the most interesting innovations will see the F80 by Caofen, an electric motorcycle from the German company specialized in sector
The main feature of this vehicle is its ability to tackle any situation, thanks to its compact size, weight of just 81 kg and its incredible resistance to knocks and falls. To better express the latter concept the House declares that the F80 can fall about 2,000 times from a height of five meters without being damaged. This quality is also due to the choice of materials, with a frame built in magnesium alloy and cast aluminum that does not have welds, considered “weak” points. The electric motor and the battery pack boast an IP67 degree of protection, the maximum present on this evaluation scale. The first number indicates that the structure is able to resist the penetration of dust up to an infinitesimal diameter, while the second indicates maximum resistance to liquids.
Furthermore, through an innovative system, the F80 can also be used in very adverse conditions, such as a climate temperature of 40 degrees below zero, and the battery can receive a higher current flow during the charge without overheating, to the advantage of the recharge times (Caofen claims 2 hours for a “full tank”)
On a technical level the bike adopts knobby wheels with 21″ spoked rims the front and 18” the rear, disc brakes and wide enduro-style handlebars. The suspensions are of quality, with a robust upside-down fork at work at the front, while at the rear we find a central single shock absorber. The wheelbase is 130 cm, the load supported by the vehicle is 100 kg and the declared maximum speed is 85km/h.
The motor, an 8kW permanent magnet unit, is powered by a battery pack with a capacity of 2160Wh, for a range declared by Caofen of 80 km at 30 km/h.
